With a wide range of makeup expertise and more than ten years experience in the industry, Jie Yi graduated with a Diploma in Makeup Artistry at Cosmoprof Makeup Academy in 2008 and has made countless brides beautiful on their wedding days. She is no stranger to magazines and fashion shows and has her works published in magazines such as SCENE magazine and FHM. She has also teamed up with Korean hairstylist, Edward Kim from Dusol Beauty Singapore for the Wella Trend Vision Hair competition and was in top 8 makeup artists in the FreshKon Mosaic Lookbook competition 2011.

Jie Yi also specialises in special effects and creative makeup. She has completed the prosthetics makeup course in the renowned Cinema School of Makeup in Los Angeles. Her special effects makeup are showcased during the Universal Studios Singapore Halloween night and the Zombie race Singapore.

For her classes, she announces not representing any brand hence her opinion on the products she uses, and her classes are based on our hands-of experience in using these products on our clients. She also tests these products on ourselves. What she loves, she shares – she is providing her class on the basis of ‘sharing is caring’.

She always says, "our colleagues are aware there are many providers of Makeup Classes in Singapore. We are different because we are trained and possess skills and experience not just in Beauty Makeup and Hairstyling, but also Makeup Effects and Prosthetic Productions. Both Jieyi and Rezani are trained by Professional Makeup Artists from Hollywood. Most of the materials we use are obtained directly from the same suppliers that provide supplies to Hollywood movies and TV series such as Resident Evil and Walking Dead."

Being Makeup Effects Artists let her gain a better understanding of human anatomy and colour theory. She is trained in flexibility of handling tools and materials. These knowledge, experience and skills are helpful in guiding her clients and students to use the proper tools and makeup to achieve the look they are after as economical as possible.

As a makeup educator, she could help her students to learn how to use all the makeup stash they already own, identify what to buy to create a certain look, and know how to further enhance makeup application to achieve flawless look.
